Toneye Brown

Toneye Brown began his career in the entertainment industry when in 1989 he signed as a recording artist with Cheetah/Atlantic Records. From 1989-1993 Toneye along side DJ Magic Mike was responsible for over 4 million records being sold, and becoming the first group in the history of BILLBOARD in 1992 to have 4 albums on Billboard’s Heatseeker charts at one time which included the platinum selling album “ BASS is the NAME of the GAME. ‘ In ’92 Toneye also released his solo album ‘Southern Hospitality’ ( T-Isaam featuring DJ Magic Mike) to critical acclaim selling over 100,000 copies the first month , however, due to continous unpaid back royalities and creative differences concerning promotions of the album, Toneye and his then attorney Richard Wolfe successfully sued for his release and in 1994 Toneye was offered a chance to head his own label thru Ichiban Records based in Atlanta, Georgia by John Abbey and Nina Easton. Brown then co-wrote the hit “Bankhead Bounce” which led to the creation of the rap group “Ying Yang Twins”. He also executive produced MC Madness solo gold selling album ‘Come Get this Money Honey’ and in 1996 released his last solo album entitled The Ballers “A Day Late and a Dollar Short” which became an underground U.K. classic and the 1997 “Independent Dope” award winner.

In 1998 Toneye left Atlanta and returned to Orlando,Fl intent on more artist development when he was offered a chance to begin creating tours for several independent booking agencies by using his music background and relationships. Toneye began by reviving the show demand for many of the ‘old school’ bands. This list includes such acts as the Temptations,O’Jays, S.O.S Band,Frankie Beverly and Maze, Jeffery Osbourne, Rose Royce, Gap Band, and Atlantic Starr. From there Toneye began handling Florida show runs for Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, OutKast,Run DMC, and Nas. In 2004 he had the honor of working the “Re-Invention Tour” for Madonna in the cities of Los Angelas,Ca. and Miami,Fl. From 2005 until 2009 he continued to work behind the scenes consulting with event venues such as Hard Rock Cafe and the House of Blues. In 2011 Toneye’s company AWA was offered the chance to work with LIVE NATION on its southeastern comedy tours. This led to Toneye working closely with Martin Lawrence and Chris Tucker’s comedy comeback tours handling Miami,Orlando, Atlanta,and Charlotte. His success enabled him to also work with Cedric the Entertainer, Mike Epps and most recently Kevin Hart.

He has also handled several celebrity events such as LeBron James All-Star Weekend party in Orlando (2012) with Floyd Mayweather & Kevin Hart. In 2013 Toneye organized tours for Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, LMFAO, and Dev. In 2014 he arranged Miguel’s performance for the 2014 NBA All-Star Party in Dallas,Texas. Most recently in 2015 he produced Future’s UK show in Amsterdam at the Heineken Hall with Krept & Konan and Floyd Mayweather Champions Tour in London.

Toneye currently works with Attorney Arthur Sims who is also legal counsel for Johnny Wright the entertainment manager for Justin Timberlake, Ciara, N’Sync, Backstreet Boyz, and the Jonas Brothers. He is CEO of American World Agency and also an executive in American Hustle Music and Management.
